Inspired by Yann Kebbi's work I went on to experiment with pencil crayon myself. One of my main focuses of these experiments was to not use colours that were true to real life. The book's subjects feel very real and it might be nice to add a touch of subtle fantasy to these. I think it could add to the book's humour, or give it a lighter touch.
What I noticed most is that whilst not completely satisfied with the images on the page that when scanned in and levelled so that the page white is completely white that the colours became more saturated and solid looking and pleasing. As the book will be digitally printed they will have to be scanned anyway.
I'm also interested in the monochrome images, and will look more into this. The monochrome, even in colour, has a touch of sadness in comparison to the craziness that is the rainbow images.
